If we are guided by the assumption that the development of human civilization is not possible without energy, we can say that electricity, as the most adaptable and most represented form the energy, is an indispensable basis of human life. It can be said that the supply of electricity is a prerequisite for both economic development and the standards of the population, and in order for all this to be possible, an electricity system is needed. Its construction and use lead to environmental pollution, so it is necessary to take this into account at all stages of work. Therefore, the production of electricity from renewable sources and modern approaches to environmental protection through sustainable production and consumption are encouraged. The aim of this paper is to present the comprehensive and large impact of the electricity sector on the environment, so speaking environmental protection in the context of increasing the use of renewable energy sources and modern approaches to environmental protection.
