Abstract
Probavni sustav čovjeka kompleksan je organski sustav koji u novije doba zahvaljujući ubrzanom i nezdravom životnom ritmu sve češće obolijeva. Poglavito se oboljenja javljaju na predjelu želuca. Patološke tvorevine na želucu u velikom su porastu u novije vrijeme. Istovremeno se razvija i kirurgija i sve opcije koje oboljelima omogućuju produljenje života i bolju kvalitetu života nakon radikalnih kirurških zahvata, pa tako govorimo o vagotomiji, resekciji ili pak gastrektomiji, ovisno o stupnju i vrsti oboljenja želuca. Uloga medicinske sestre presudna je u svim segmentima bolesnikova boravka u bolnici. Ona ga educira, priprema za zahvat, te brine o njemu nakon zahvata. Psihička priprema igra veliku ulogu jer se dokazano smirivanjem duha znatno skraćuje vrijeme oporavka i poboljšava učinkovitost kirurškog zahvata. Educirani bolesnik se lakše nosi sa dijagnozom i prognozom, pa i ovdje medicinska sestra ima važnu zadaću.
Abstract (english)
Gastrointestinal system is a complex organic system. Due to a fast and unhealthy lifestyle, it is evermore often subjected to various illnesses. These illnesses predominantly occur in the area of the stomach. Gastropathies are more and more present nowadays. At the same time GI- related surgery alongside with may other options is also constantly evolving. This gives the patients a hope of prolonged life expectancy and a better quality life following radical stomach surgery. It is important to mention vagotomy, resection as well as gastrectomy when talking about evolution in the GI surgery field. Nurse's role is crucial in any segment of patients stay at the hospital. She educates him, prepares him for the surgery, as well as monitors his condition after the surgery. Psychological preparation for surgery is greatly important. When a person is spiritually at peace, his/her recovery in enhanced, and the surgery itself proves to be more efficient. An educated and informed patient can more easily deal with a bad diagnosis
