Abstract
Djeca su znatno osjetljivija na ionizirajuće zračenje nego odrasli stoga je vrlo bitno da im se pruži maksimalna zaštita ukoliko je to moguće i da im se posveti maksimalna pažnja. Prvi kontakt radiološkog tehnologa s pedijatrijskim pacijentom je vrlo bitan i može biti presudan na konačnu kvalitetu slike. Bitno je da radiološki tehnolog dobro objasni djetetu njegovu ulogu tijekom pregleda, da mu ponudi mogućnost izbora (da odluči hoće li roditelja kraj sebe tjekom pregleda), da se tijekom razgovora s djetetom spusti na njegovu razinu, gleda ga u oči i priča smirenim, ali ozbiljnim tonom. Radiološki tehnolog treba znati kako će se postaviti s određenim dobnim skupinama djece jer krivi pristup (posebice kod adolescenata) može rezultirati ponavljanje ekspozicije i nepotrebnom izlaganju ionizirajućem zračenju.
Abstract (english)
Children are significantly more sensitive to ionizing radiation than adults, therefore it is very important to provide their maximum protection as possible and that they receive full attention. The radiological technologist first contact with pediatric patients is very important and can be crucial for the final image quality. It is essential that the radiological technologist explains the child his/her role during the examination, to offer him/her a choice to decide whether he/she wants the parents presence during the examination, to speak with the child at his/her level, to look him/her in the eye and to speak in a calm, but serious tone. A radiologic technologist needs to know how to behave with certain age groups because the wrong approach (especially with adolescents) may result in repeating the examination and unnecessary extra exposure to ionizing radiation.
