Pet područja upitnika SF-36 – tjelesna aktivnost, ograničavanje aktivnosti zbog tjelesnog zdravlja, tjelesna bol, društveno funkcioniranje i ograničavanje aktivnosti zbog emocionalnih problema – definiraju zdravlje kao odsutnost ograničenja i nesposobnosti, predstavljaju stalna i jednodimenzionalna mjerila zdravlja.
Abstract (english) The aim of the paper is to investigate the perception of health as an indicator of the quality of life of nurses employed in the family medicine clinic in the area of Split-Dalmatia County and the Institution for Health Care and Rehabilitation at Home. The survey was conducted among 54 respondents, out of which 27 family medicine outpatient employees, and 27 employees of home care institutions.
Methods: In the empirical part of this paper, hypotheses are tested using quantitative methods in biomedicine. The SF-36 questionnaire was used as an instrument of study. The paper uses graphical and tabular presentation methods that show the response structure of respondents as well as the expressed level of health quality. To test the differences in numeric variables that satisfy the condition of equality of distribution, the T-test is used, while the Mann-Whitney U test is otherwise used. The distribution normality was verified using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The analysis was done in the statistical program STATISTICS 11. Conclusions were made at a significance of 5%. Five areas of the SF-36 questionnaire - physical activity, limiting activity for physical health, physical ailment, social function and limiting activity due to emotional problems - defining health as the absence of constraints and inability, represent constant and one-dimensional health standards. Three areas of the SF-36 questionnaire - the general perception of health, vitality and mental health - bipolar, which means that they measure far greater range of negative and positive health outcomes.
Results: A higher level of perception of general health has been established with family medicine workers in relation to employees of home care institutions. Furthermore, it can be established that a high level of perception of general health (Me> 50) has been established at the employees of the family medicine clinic, while a low level of general health perception (Me <50) is found in the health care institution employee.
Conclusions: After the research conducted, there was established a higher level of health quality in family medicine workers than in home care institutions. By testing the relationship between the quality of health and the age group no correlation has been established with any group of employees or older employees will not have a different quality of health in relation to the younger age group. By testing the difference in the quality of health with regard to the level of education, the differences between the employees of the home care institution have been established among the employees with upper and lower secondary education where the higher level of vitality and energy, mental health and social functioning where higher quality of health established in nurses with advanced secondary education compared to nurses with completed primary education. There are no differences in the quality of health with respect to the level of education for employees in the family medicine clinic.
