Abstract UVOD: Među najčešćim bolestima modernog doba su kardiovaskularna oboljenja te su visoko na ljestvici smrtnosti u Europi, pogotovo u Hrvatskoj, gdje su na vodećem mjestu uzroka smrti. Potrebno je pronaći rješenje kroz sustavne i kontinuirane napore u prevenciji, ranom prepoznavanju i liječenju srčanih oboljenja, a između ostalog i kroz kvalitetnu edukaciju zdravstvenih djelatnika i opće populacije. Koliko je u tom smislu obrazovana opća populacija, isključujući zdravstvene djelatnike, saznajemo kroz ovaj istraživački rad u kojem su ispitani studenti na osnovu njihovog znanja o reanimaciji.
CILJEVI RADA: Procijeniti znanje studenata o kardiopulmonalnoj reanimaciji; ispitati utjecaj edukacija o KPR na razinu znanja studenata; usporediti razinu znanja studenata Sveučilišta u Splitu i Sveučilišta u Mostaru; utvrditi zainteresiranost studenata za daljnjom edukacijom o KPR.
MATERIJAL I METODE: Provedeno je kvantitativno deskriptivno istraživanje. Promatrana skupina su bili studenti nezdravstvenih studija Sveučilišta u Mostaru te ista populacija studenata Sveučilišta u Splitu, ukupno 123 ispitanika. U cilju prikupljanja podataka napravljen je posebno formulirani anketni upitnik u elektroničkom obliku, a podatci su se prikupljali u kolovozu 2019. godine.
REZULTATI: Na osnovu ankete zaključujemo kako nije potvrđena statistički značajna razlika između razine znanja studenata Sveučilišta u Splitu i Sveučilišta u Mostaru; potvrđeno je postojanje statistički značajne razlike između razine znanja i sudjelovanja u edukacijama; ne postoji negativna povezanost između razine znanja o kardiopulmonalnoj reanimaciji i izostanka edukacije te je potvrđena pozitivna razina zainteresiranosti za dodatne edukacije iz područja kardiopulmonalne reanimacije.
ZAKLJUČAK: Statističkom analizom dobivenih rezultata utvrđeno je kako studenti nezdravstvenih studija pokazuju nezadovoljavajuću razinu znanja na postavljenim pitanjima te je na ukupno 3 pitanja, od njih 10, postotak netočnih odgovora bio značajno veći. Postignuti rezultati potvrđuju važnost i učinkovitost dodatnih edukacija iz područja hitne medicine i oživljavanja, što bi sukladno zahtjevima i zainteresiranošću u budućnosti moglo proizvesti važne projekte i manifestacije s ciljem educiranja opće populacije ne samo o ovoj, već i ostalim relevantnim temama važnim za ljudsko zdravlje i pravodobnog reagiranja pri ugroženosti istog.
Abstract (english) BACKGROUND: Among the most common diseases of modern era are cardiovascular ailments which are highly positioned on mortality scale in Europe, especially in Croatia, where they are leading cause of death. Accordingly, it is necessary to find a solution through systematic and continuous efforts in prevention, early recognition and treatment of cardiac diseases; among that through quality education of healthcare providers and the general population. We're finding out how educated is general population, excluding health care workers, through this scientific research in which students were tested based on their knowledge of resuscitation.
AIM: Assess students' knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation; to examine an impact of CPR educations on students' knowledge level; compare the knowledge level of students of University of Split and University of Mostar; to determine students' interest in further CPR training.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Quantitative descriptive research was conducted. The target group were students of non-medical studies of the University of Mostar and the same population of students of the University of Split, a 123 respondents in total. In order to collect the data, author of research provided a specifically formulated questionnaire, made in electronic form. The data was collected in August 2019.
RESULTS: The conclusion which was made after survey shows that there was no statistically significant difference between the level of knowledge of the students of the University of Split and the University of Mostar; the existence of statistically significant differences between the level of knowledge and participation in education is confirmed; there isn't negative correlation between the level of knowledge about cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the absence of education; positive level of interest for further CPR training has been confirmed.
CONCLUSION: A statistical analysis of the obtained results revealed that students of non-medical studies show an unsatisfactory level of knowledge on the questions raised and in a total of 3 questions out of 10, the percentage of inaccurate responses was notably higher. Achieved results confirm the importance and effectiveness of additional education in the field of emergency medicine and resuscitation, which in accordance with the requirements and interest could produce important projects and manifestations in the future in order to educate the general population-not only on this, but also on other relevant topics important for human health and promptly reacting when it's endangered.
