The paper contains a basic explanation of concepts of health and health promotion. Moreover, they provide information about the behavior of children and young people in relation to health, and the role of nurses in health promotion and health education in the school. I looked around and the essential themes that represent problems in young people, and is subject to their interests. The paper is divided into several sections. The introduction describes the concept of health and health promotion, and health promotion in the school setting. After a description of the paper, the results are presented numerical data for Croatia and Split - Dalmatia County of preventive health care through medical examinations conducted with special emphasis on health problems that could previously not recognized by medical professionals working with children and involvement in various forms of health education. The discussion analyzed data on health education in schools, as a means of promoting health, which includes teachers and parents of very important role of health professionals. We adopted the results of previous research on the fundamental problems in childhood and adolescence (nutrition, eating disorders, physical activity, and risky behavior). Especially emphasized the need to raise the level of health literacy. At the end of the show and the role of nurses in health education in schools, and the need for greater involvement of nurses in working with children and young people, but also with their parents.
