Abstract
Glikemijski indeks (GI) se koristi kao pokazatelj postprandijalne promjene razine glukoze u krvi. Praćenje razine glukoze u krvi važno je zbog načina na koji glukoza djeluje u organizmu, a posebno je važno kod osoba koje boluju od dijabetesa. Glikemijsko opterećenje (GL) je poboljšanje koncepta GI jer uzima u obzir GI i količinu ugljikohidrata u realnoj količini konzumirane hrane. Provedeno istraživanje obuhvatilo je 24 žene odrasle životne dobi od kojih 12 boluje od dijabetesa, te su se njihovi podaci usporedili sa kontrolnom grupom žena sličnih karakteristika koje ne boluje od navedene bolesti. Korišten je opći upitnik i dijetetička metoda 24-satnog prisjećanja. Prosječan GI namirnica obiju skupina je 51,2 ± 3,04 . U obje skupine prevladava nisko GL. Skupina ispitanica oboljelih od dijabetesa bilježi veći unos namirnica visokog GI te stoga i veći GL prehrane. Nije utvrđena statistički značajna razlika GI i GL hrane između žena oboljelih od dijabetesa tip 2 i kontrolne skupine (p>0,05).
Abstract (english)
Glycemic index (GI) is used as indicator of changes in postprandial blood glucose levels. Control of blood glucose levels is important, especially for people with diabetes. Glycemic load (GL) is the value of the quantity of available carbohydrate in a serving of food multiplied by its GI. The study included 24 adult women, 12 with diabetes type 2 and 12 healthy women in the control group. Data were collected with general questionnaire and 24- hour recall was used as a dietary assessment method. The average GI of foods of both groups was 51.2 ± 3.04, and in both groups prevailed low GL. A group of patients with diabetes reported a higher intake of foods with high GI and GL in comparison with the control group. There was no significant difference in GI and GL of food between women with diabetes type 2 and control group (p>0.05).
