Abstract
Različiti oblici i vrste komplementarne i alternativne medicine postali su neizostavni sadržaj ponude na zapadnim tržištima zdravstvene zaštite i dio svakodnevnih kulturnih praksi. Alternativna medicina je bilo koji oblik medicinske terapije koji se ne smatra konvencionalnim od strane (zapadne) medicine, a komplementarna medicina je bilo koji oblik medicinske terapije koji izlazi izvan okvira znanstvene medicine, ali koji se može koristiti usporedno s njom u liječenju bolesti. Kratki pregled određenih alternativnih i komplementarnih dijetoterapija karcinoma ukazuje na njihovu heterogenost i na malo znanstveno dokazanih terapija. Rezultati istraživanja provedenog na Klinici za tumore u Zagrebu su pokazali da od ukupno 20 ispitanika njih 85 % koristi alternativnu i komplementarnu dijetoterapiju pri liječenju svoje bolesti, a 65% primjenjuje specifičnu prehranu pri liječenju svoje bolesti (povećan unos voća, povrća i žitarica, sokovi od iscijeđenog voća, povećan unos bobičastog voća, smanjen unos šećera i bijelog brašna). Među najčešće korištenom alternativnom i komplementarnom metodom su čajevi (47,1 %), a najčešće korištena specifična prehrana je povećan unos voća, povrća i žitarica (61,5 %).
Abstract (english)
Different forms and types of complementary and alternative medicine have become indispensable content of western health care markets and part of everyday cultural practices. Alternative medicine is any form of medical treatment which is not considered by the conventional (western) biomedicine and complementary medicine is any form of medical treatment that goes beyond medical science, but which can be used together with it in the treatment. A short overview of alternative and complementary cancer diet therapy indicates their heterogeneity and few scientifically proven therapies. Results of this study conducted at the University hospital for tumours, Zagreb showed that among 20 patients, 85 % use alternative and complementary diet therapy in treatment, and 65 % use a specific diet in the treatment of their disease (increased intake of fruits, vegetables and cereals, freshly squeezed fruit juices, increased intake of berries, low sugar and refined flour). Among the most commonly used alternative and complementary methods are teas (47.1 %) and the most widely used specific diet is increased intake of fruits, vegetables and cereals (61.5 %).
