Abstract
Pretilost postaje jedan od ključnih problema javnog zdravstva te je zbog toga sve veći broj istraživanja vezanih za pretilost. Još veća zabrinutost javlja se pri pretilosti djece, kao ozbiljan zdravstveni problem koji stvara predispozicije za kronična oboljenja u kasnijoj životnoj dobi. Društveni čimbenici imaju najsnažniji utjecaj na način prehrane i životni stil te samim time na razvoj pretilosti. Kultura u kojoj živimo obuhvaća i utjecaj roditelja, njihovo obrazovanje, socio-ekonomski status kao čimbenike koji uvjetuju pojavu pretilosti. Zatim, utjecaj okoline, odnosno međusoban utjecaj djece i stvaranje stereotipa, te utjecaj medija značajni su pri ostvarivanju prehrambenih navika. Osim samog načina prehrane, na pretilost utječe i smanjenje tjelesne aktivnosti, čemu pogoduju nesigurna susjedstva i sjedilački način života. Način prehrane određen kulturom, teško je mijenjati međutim društvo može uvođenjem promjena prevenirati daljnji porast prevalencije pretilosti. Rad je pregled dosadašnjih istraživanja i radova na temu pretilosti kod djece.
Abstract (english)
Obesity is becoming one of the key public health issue, which is why a growing number of studies are related to obesity. Even greater concern arises with children obesity as a serious health problem that creates a predisposition to chronic diseases in later life. Social factors have the strongest impact on diet and lifestyle, and thus on the development of obesity. The culture, in which we live, includes the influence of parents, their education, socio-economic status as factors that determine the occurrence of obesity. Then, the influence of the environment, or reciprocal influence of children and stereotyping, and the impact of the media are important in achieving dietary habits. In addition to the diet, obesity affects the reduction of physical activity, which is favored by unsafe neighborhoods and sedentary lifestyle. Diet determined by culture, it is difficult to change, however, society can prevent the introduction of changes further increase the prevalence of obesity. This paper is an overview of previous research and papers on the subject of obesity in children.
