Abstract
Dušikovi spojevi su jedni od najznačajnijih zagađivača otpadnih voda. Biološka nitrifikacija i denitrifikacija su procesi tijekom kojih se dušik uklanja iz otpadnih voda. Nitrifikacija je proces u kojem se amonijak preko nitrita pretvara u nitrat. Vrši je specifična grupa mikroorganizama koju možemo naći i u prirodi. Nakon nitrifikacije slijedi denitrifikacija, a denitrifikacija je proces u kojem određene vrste bakterija, u anoksičnim uvjetima, reduciraju nitratni dušik do plinovitih oblika dušika: N2, NO i N2O, koji zatim izlaze iz otopine u atmosferu. U ovom radu uspoređeni su različiti sustavi za provedbu procesa biološke nitrifikacije i denitrifikacije te neki parametri vođenja ovih procesa.
Abstract (english)
Nitrogen compounds are most common pollutants in wastewater. Biological nitrification and denitrification are processes during which nitrogen is being removed from wastewater. Nitrification is a process of converting ammonium to nitrate over nitrites. It is carried out by specific group of microorganisms which are found in nature. Denitrification is the process in which anoxic bacteria reduce nitrate nitrogen to gaseous formes of nitrogen: N2, NO and N2O. In most cases denitrification is preformed after the nitrification. In this thesis we compared different biological nitrification and denitrification systems and examined how different parameters affect the nitrification and denitrification processes.
