Abstract
U sklopu strategije primarne i sekundarne prevencije koronarne bolesti srca od ključne je važnosti promjena načina života. Osobito je važno djelovati na hiperkolesterolemiju koja je jedan od najvažnijih čimbenika rizika za koronarnu bolest. Na koronarnu bolest može se utjecati promjenom načina prehrane i poticanjem tjelesne aktivnosti. Promjena načina prehrane treba se temeljiti na smanjenju unosa masti, posebno zasićenih masnih kiselina i kolesterola, uz relativno povećanje unosa višestruko i jednostruko nezasićenih masnih kiselina te povećanje unosa prehrambenih vlakana i antioksidanata biljnog ili mineralnog podrijetla. Kolesterol, masne kiseline i ulja pripadaju u obitelj lipida. Lipidi su važan izvor energije i osim toga važne biološki aktivne molekule koje imaju mnoge funkcije u organizmu. Masti i kolesterol se ne mogu otapati u krvi pa se transportiraju kao trigliceridi ili u lipoproteinskim kompleksima. U ovom radu prikazan je utjecaj kolesterola i masnih kiselina iz konopljinog, sezamovog i kokosovog ulja na serumske lipoproteine te negativan utjecaj pretjerane konzumacije kolesterola i masti na tjelesnu težinu i zdravlje.
Abstract (english)
Intervention strategies for coronary heart disease (CHD) must include attention to life-style factors and changing people's habits. Since hypercholesterolemia is one of the most important risk factors for CHD, the modification of this risk factor including dietary factors, improving exercise and attainment of ideal body weight. The dietary changes should include reduction in intake of total fat, saturated fat and cholesterol, relative increase in intake of poly- and monounsaturated fats, and an increase in intake of dietary fibre, vitamin and mineral antioxidants. Cholesterol, fats and oils belongs to the family of lipids. Lipids are important source of energy and, beside that, they are biologically active molecules that have many important roles in organism. Fat and cholesterol can’t dissolve in blood, so they are transported in the plasma as triglicerydes or by large complexes called lipoproteins. In this work an overview of effects of dietary cholesterol and fatty acids from hemp, sesame and coconut oil on plasma lipoproteins as well as adverse effects of over consumption of cholesterol and fat on body weight and health.
