Abstract
Šećerna bolest jedna je od najčešćih bolesti današnjice i njena incidencija s godinama raste. S druge strane šećerna bolest često zna biti asimptomatična te ljudi nisu svjesni da je imaju do pojave većih komplikacija. Veće komplikacije dolaze još brže uz nepravilne prehrambene navike. Cilj ovog rada bio je provođenje probira za šećernu bolest te utvrditi prehrambene navike kvalitativnim upitnikom o učestalosti konzumacije hrane i pića. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 80 nasumično odabranih ispitanika. Utvrđeno je da 35 % ispitanika ima povišenu koncentraciju glukoze u krvi na tašte (≥ 7,0 mmol/L). Prehrambene navike ispitanika pokazale su se u mnogo segmenata neadekvatne. Velik broj ispitanika imao je nedovoljan unos mesa, voća i povrća kao i mlijeka i mliječnih proizvoda. Ovo istraživanje ukazuje na važnost provođenja nasumičnih testova probira jer na jednostavan način mogu osvijestiti pojedince o potencijalnim stanjima/bolestima koje imaju, a da ih nisu niti svjesni.
Abstract (english)
Diabetes is one of the most common diseases in the world and its incidence is increasing every year. Diabetes can often be asymptomatic and people are unaware until they have severe complications. More complications come even faster with inadequate dietary habits. The aim of this paper was to carry out diabetes screening and to establish dietary habits using qualitative food frequency questionnaire. The research involved 80 randomly selected subjects. It was found that 35% of subjects had elevated glucose levels (≥ 7.0 mmol/L). The dietary habits of the respondents have been shown as inadequate in many segments. A large number of respondents had insufficient daily intake of meat, fruits and vegetables as well as milk and dairy products. This research points to the importance of conducting random screening tests because in an easy way they can inform individuals about the potential conditions/illnesses they have, without being aware of them.
