| Abstract | Prehrana predstavlja snažan čimbenik regulacije i nastanka kroničnih upalnih procesa. Cilj ovog rada bio je procijeniti protuupalni, odnosno proupalni potencijal, mediteranske, dijabetičke i pankreatičke dijete. Također, htjela se uspostaviti povezanost navedenih prehrambenih obrazaca sa biokemijskim i antropometrijskim parametrima, te kardiometaboličkim indeksom (CMI) i indeksom lipidnog akumulacijskog produkta (LAP) u 88 pacijenata s dijabetesom tipa 2 koji su boravili u dnevnoj bolnici zbog neodgovarajuće regulirane šećerne bolesti. Upalni potencijal prehrane 70 različitih jelovnika ocijenjen je pomoću upalnog indeksa prehrane (eng. Dietary Inflammatory Index, DII®). Mediteranska je dijeta pokazala najjači protuupalni učinak (DII®=-0,79), zatim dijabetička dijeta (DII®=-0,74), dok je pankreatička dijeta pokazala proupalni učinak (DII®=0,63). Usporedbom početnih antropometrijskih i biokemijskih parametara u 17 pacijenata s dijabetesom tipa 2, s rezultatima nakon šest mjeseci, utvrđena je statistički značajno niža vrijednost LDL-kolesterola (p=0,041), triglicerida (p=0,023), LAP indeksa (p=0,014) i CMI-a (p=0,039), što upućuje na potencijalno pridržavanje edukacijom usvojenih prehrambenih smjernica. Potrebno je osvijestiti važnost terapijskih i protuupalnih učinaka prehrane na zdravlje, pri čemu se mediteranska i dijabetička dijeta ističu kao najpoželjniji protuupalni prehrambeni obrasci. |
| Abstract (english) | Nutrition is an important factor in the regulation and the development of chronic inflammatory processes. The purpose of this study is to determine the anti-inflammatory, or inflammatory effect, of the Mediterranean, diabetic and pancreatic diets. Additionally, the study looks to establish the linkage of the mentioned dietary patterns with the biochemical and anthropometric parameters, and the cardiometabolic index (CMI) and lipid accumulation product index (LAP) in 88 patients with type 2 diabetes. These patients were stationed in a daily hospital due to inadequate regulation of diabetes. Inflammatory potential of 70 different menus has been analyzed with the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII®).After calculating the average DII® values, the Mediterranean diet has shown the strongest anti-inflammatory effect (DII®=-0.79), followed by diabetic diet (DII®=-0.74), while the pancreatic diet has shown an inflammatory effect (DII®=0.63). Comparing the initial anthropometric and biochemical parameters, in 17 patients with type 2 diabetes, with the results after six months, there were statistically significant lower LDL cholesterol (p=0.041), triglycerides (p=0.023), LAP index (p=0.014) and CMI (p=0.039). This suggests a potential adherence to the adapted dietary guidelines through education. It is necessary to bring awareness to the importance of the therapeutic and anti-inflammatory effects of nutrition, while highlighting the Mediterranean and diabetic diets as the most desirable anti-inflammatory dietary patterns. |
