Abstract
U industriji voda ima jednu od najvažnijih uloga, a gotovo sva završi kao otpadna voda. Otpuštanje industrijske otpadne vode u okoliš, može izazvati velike ekološke ugroze zbog, često, organski i anorganski jako opterećenog kemijskog sastava efluenta. Zbog sve strožih zakonskih regulativa o kakvoći obrađene otpadne vode, potrebe za ponovnim korištenjem obrađene vode i manjkom prostora za gradnju velikih industrijskih postrojenja, dolazi do bržeg razvoja suvremenih tehnologija obrade vode. MBR (membranski biološki reaktor) tehnologija predstavlja kombinaciju klasične biološke obrade aktivnim muljem i membranske filtracije. Za MBR sustave je karakteristična vrlo kvalitetna obrada vode i efluenti koji zadovoljavaju najstrože parametre propisane zakonskom regulativom, ali cjelokupni troškovi sustava su veliki i kao takvi nisu prihvatljivi svim industrijama. MBR je, zamijenivši proces sedimentacije s procesom filtracije, jako unaprijedio proces biološke obrade, ali ga je potrebno još usavršavati kako bi bio učinkovitiji, jeftinijii i samim time primjenjiviji.
Abstract (english)
Water plays a crucial role in industry and the vast majority of it ends up as wastewater. Releasing industrial wastewater into the environment can cause great ecological damage because of the often high organic and anorganic load of the effluent. Increasingly stringent regulations concerning the quality of treated wastewater, pressure to reuse water and lack of space, have led to technological improvements and modernisation of wastewater treatment. The MBR (membrane bioreactor) technology represents a combination of membrane filtration and classic activated sludge treatment. MBR systems produce high quality effluents which satisfy the strictest legal parameters, however, the costs of such a system are not viable for every industry type. Although MBR systems have vastly improved on previous treatment processes, further improvements in efficiency and further cost reductions are necessary to make it applicable in a wider range of industries.
