Abstract
Ovaj rad je fokusiran na poremećaje u prehrani, točnije one nespecifične, s naglaskom na ortoreksiji. Poremećaji u prehrani su u današnjem svijetu općepoznati i široko rasprostranjeni problem, a u moderno doba ih se pojavljuje, odnosno prepoznaje sve više. Osim onih najstarijih i najpoznatijih, anoreksije nervoze i bulimije nervoze, postoje i nespecifični poremećaji u prehrani kojima još nedostaju službeni dijagnostički kriteriji, ali to ih ne čini manje opasnima za oboljele. Ortoreksija nervoza je jedan od takvih nespecifičnih poremećaja. Najjednostavnije rečeno, to je poremećaj u kojem je osoba opsjednuta pravilnom prehranom do nezdrave i štetne mjere. To može uzrokovati brojne negativne posljedice na kvalitetu života. Cilj rada je opširnije opisati ortoreksiju kao relativno novi fenomen i poremećaj, sažeti osnovne činjenice o ostalim poznatim nespecifičnim poremećajima u prehrani i ukazati na važnost daljnjih istraživanja i edukacije o tim poremećajima u svrhu liječenja i pomoći ljudima koji pate od njih.
Abstract (english)
This paper is focused on eating disorders, more precisely on those unspecified, emphasizing orthorexia. Eating disorders are a well-known and worldwide problem these days, and there is an increased number of them appearing and being recognized in the modern age. Apart from those oldest and most familiar ones, anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, there are also unspecified eating disorders which are still lacking official diagnostic criteria, but that doesn’t make them less dangerous for the people that have them. Orthorexia nervosa is one of those unspecified disorders. Simply, it’s a disorder in which a person is obsessed with a healthy diet to an unhealthy and harmful degree. This can cause numerous negative consequences on a person’s quality of life. The goal of the thesis is to describe orthorexia in further detail as a relatively new phenomenon and disorder, summarize fundamental facts about other known unspecified eating disorders and to point out the importance of further research and education for the purpose of treatment and helping people who suffer from them.
