Abstract
Rak dojke je jedan od najčešćih tumora koji zahvaća žene diljem svijeta. Glavni uzrok nastanka raka je gubitak kontrole normalnog rasta stanica. Jedna od nekoliko grupa gena koji imaju značajnu ulogu u razvoju karcinoma su tumor supresorski geni. Oni kodiraju za proteine koji djeluju kao negativni regulatori rasta tumora te u normalnim uvjetima inhibiraju proliferaciju stanica ili usporavaju diobu. Mutacije u tumor supresorskim genima koje inaktiviraju njihovo inhibicijsko djelovanje dopridonose razvitku raka. U ovom radu su prikazane različite strukturne promjene u tumor supresorskim genima BRCA2 i TP53 i njihov utjecaj na razvoj karcinoma dojke.
Abstract (english)
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. Cancer arises from a loss of normal growth control. A group of genes that are important for cancer development are the tumor suppressor genes. Those genes encode proteins that normally inhibit the formation of tumors. Their normal function is to inhibit cell proliferation, or slow down cell division. Mutations in tumor suppressor genes contribute to the development of cancer by inactivating that inhibitory function. In this study structural changes in the tumor suppressor genes BRCA2 and TP53 and their function in breast cancer development were observed.
