Abstract
Multipla skleroza je kronična, autoimuna bolest središnjeg živčanog sustava, nepoznate etiologije i sve veće prevalencije. Uz medikamentozno liječenje često se koriste komplementarne i alternativne metode među koje spada i prehrana. U ovom završnom radu cilj je bio prikupiti informacije o utjecaju pojedinih prehrambenih komponenata na tijek i stanje multiple skleroze. Ispitan je utjecaj raznih suplemenata od kojih je najčešće korišten vitamin D. Unatoč nedosljednostima u rezultatima, brojne studije pružaju neizravne dokaze da je uravnotežena prehrana povezana s poboljšanjem nekih kliničkih parametara i kvalitete života oboljelih
Abstract (english)
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, autoimmune disease of the central nervous system, of unknown etiology and ever-increasing prevalence. In addition to medical treatments, complementary and alternative methods are often used, including nutrition. The goal of this undergraduate thesis was to gather information about the influence of specific dietary components on the course and condition of multiple sclerosis. The influence of various supplements was examined, of which the most used was vitamin D. Despite the inconsistencies in the results, numerous studies provide indirect evidence that a balanced diet is associated with the improvement of some clinical parameters and the quality of life.
