Abstract
Bolničke infekcije značajan su zdravstveni problem koji povećava morbiditet i mortalitet bolesnika te se u što većoj mjeri nastoji reducirati prisutnost patogenih mikroorganizama u bolničkom okruženju. Sprječavanje rasta bakterija i gljivica pogotovo na tekstilu namijenjenom za bolnice postao je jedan od novih izazova za čovjeka. Tekstil dolazi u izravni kontakt s kožom pa je važno ispitati potencijalni toksični utjecaj antimikrobno obrađenog tekstila na kožu. Korištena je HaCaT stanična linija humanih keratinocita te je primijenjena MTT metoda 72 sata nakon tretmana. Rezultati su pokazali kako sva ispitana razrjeđenja kao i ishodna otopina dobivena ekstrakcijom antimikrobno obrađene pamuk/poliester tkanine smanjuju proliferaciju i vijabilnost HaCaT stanica. Također, primijećeno je kako tekstil koji je više puta opran uzrokuje manje smanjenje vijabilnosti i proliferacije stanica, vjerojatno zbog ispiranja antimikrobnog agensa kojim je tekstilija tretirana.
Abstract (english)
Hospital infections are a significant health problem that increases patient’s morbidity and mortality, and efforts are being made to reduce the presence of pathogenic microorganisms in the hospital environment as much as possible. Preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi, especially on textiles intended for hospitals, has become one of the new challenges. Textile comes into direct contact with the skin, so it is important to examine the potential cytotoxic impact of antimicrobial treated textiles on the skin. The HaCaT cell line of human keratinocytes was used and the MTT method was applied 72 hours after the treatment. The results showed that all tested dilutions as well as the initial solution obtained by extraction of antimicrobial treated cotton/polyester fabric reduce the proliferation and viability of HaCaT cells. Also, it was observed that textiles that have been washed several times cause a smaller decrease in cell viability and proliferation, probably due to the washing off the antimicrobial agent with which the textile was treated.
