Abstract
Uloga oprašivača je važna za život na zemlji, pa tako i za poljoprivredu. Najpoznatija među njima je medonosna pčela. Više od 110 milijuna godina ljudi i pčele žive jedni uz druge i dijele prednosti takvog suživota. Pčele su se razvile na područjima Afrike, Europe i Bliskog Istoka, a danas su udomaćene u svim krajevima svijeta.Postojanje ovih malih kukaca održava naš ekosustav. Dokazano je kako su plodovi oprašivani od strane kukaca po svojim svojstvima puno bolji i kvalitetniji nego oni kod kojih je oprašivanje obavljeno nekom drugom metodom. U procesu oprašivanja sudjeluju i brojni drugi kukci. Nama najpoznatiji, osim medonosnih pčela su bumbari i divlje ili solitarne pčele. Njihov opstanak je ugrožen zbog velikog onečišćenja i korištenja agresivnih kemikalija u intenzivnoj poljoprivredi, povrtlarstvu i voćarstvu. Dobra stvar je ta, da je čovjek na vrijeme uočio potrebu da se više osloni na prirodu i pomoć koja dolazi iz nje i da će, nadajmo se, uvažavati ulogu koju ovi vrijedni, dragocjeni kukci imaju u našim životima i u životu cijelog planeta.
Abstract (english)
The role of pollinators is important for life on Earth in general ,as well as for agriculture. The most famous among them is the honey bee. More than 110 million years, humans and bees live side by side and share the benefits of such co-existence. Bees have developed in areas of Africa, Europe and the Middle East,and today are domesticated in all parts of the world. The existence of these small insects maintains our ecosystem. It is proved that the fruits pollinated by insects by their characteristics are much better quality than those in which the pollination is performed by some other method. In the pollination process are involved many other insects. The most famous and closest to us, except honey bees, are bumblebees and wild bees also known as solitary bees. Their survival is at risk due to the high pollution and the use of aggressive chemicals in intensive agriculture, horticulture and fruit growing. The good thing is that the man at the time recognized the need to rely more on the nature and the help that comes from it, and that will , hopefully , respect the role that these valuable , precious insects have in our lives and in the life of the entire planet.
