Abstract
Hrvatska vina su kvalitetna i vrlo popularna u Hrvatskoj, te relativno popularna u svijetu, te su na međunarodnim natjecanjima osvojila mnoge medalje. No izvoz hrvatskih vina istodobno ne raste, a pokrivenost uvoza izvozom je manje nego prije pet godina. Ne rastu ni proizvodnja vina, niti površine pod vinogradima. Dakle, domaća vinska industrija je sposobna kreirati globalno kompetentna vina, ali istodobno ima poteškoće pri prodaji na globalnom tržištu. Riječ je o paradoksu, koji može biti ključan za daljnji razvoj hrvatskog vinarstva. Sama činjenica da se vina zbog stalno rastućeg turizma dobro prodaju u Republici Hrvatskoj, nije razlog za dugoročno zadovoljstvo, jer vino nije proizvod koji dobro uspijeva u zatvorenim kontekstima. Hrvatsko vino je lokalno po karakteru, ali je internacionalno po kvaliteti. Upravo se iz tog razloga mora pokušati apelirati na državu da podrži sustavni izvoz vina i međunarodno brendiranje hrvatske kao vinske zemlje.
Abstract (english)
Croatian has wines of high quality. Those wines are very popular in Croatia and relatively popular in the world, and have won many medals at international competitions. However, exports of Croatian wines are not increasing at the same time, and the coverage of imports by exports is less than five years ago. Neither wine production nor the area under vineyards increase. Thus, the domestic wine industry is capable of creating globally competent wines, but at the same time is having difficulty selling in the global market. This is a paradox, which can be crucial for the further development of Croatian winemaking. The mere fact that wines are selling well in the Republic of Croatia due to the growing tourism is not a reason for long-term satisfaction, because wine is not a product that succeeds in closed contexts. Croatian wine is local in character but international in quality. It is for this reason that one must try to appeal to the state to support the systematic export of wine and the international branding of Croatia as a wine country.
