Abstract
Cilj rada bio je utvrditi alelopatski potencijal lucerne (Medicago sativa L.) na klijavost sjemena i rast klijanaca salate (Lactuca sativa L.). Pokus je proveden u laboratoriju u Petrijevim zdjelicama gdje je istražen utjecaj vodenih ekstrakata u dvije koncentracije (1 % i 2,5 %) od suhe nadzemne mase lucerne iz pet otkosa. Alelopatski utjecaj procijenjen je mjerenjem klijavosti sjemena, te duljine korijena i izdanka i svježe mase klijanaca salate. Rezultati su pokazali statistički značajan alelopatski utjecaj vodenih ekstrakata lucerne na sve mjerene parametre. Inhibitorni učinak vodenih ekstrakata ovisio je o koncentraciji te otkosu. Povećanjem koncentracije povećavalo se negativno alelopatsko djelovanje. Razlike između djelovanja vodenih ekstrakata lucerne iz različitih otkosa utvrđene su na rast klijanaca salate. Najveći negativni alelopatski potencijal u prosjeku je imao vodeni ekstrakt lucerne iz trećeg otkosa, dok su najmanje djelovanje pokazali vodeni ekstrakti lucerne iz četvrtog i petog otkosa. Duljina korijena klijanaca salate bila je pod najvećim negativnim alelopatskim djelovanjem.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this study was to determine the allelopathic potential of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) on seed germination and growth of lettuce seedlings (Lactuca sativa L.). The experiment was performed in a laboratory in Petri dishes where the effect of water extracts in two concentrations (1% and 2.5%) from dry aboveground biomass of alfalfa from five cuts was investigated. The allelopathic effect was assessed by measuring seed germination, root and shoot length, and fresh weight of lettuce seedlings. The results showed a statistically significant allelopathic effect of alfalfa water extracts on all measured parameters. The inhibitory effect of water extracts depended on the concentration and the cut. With the increase in extract concentration the negative allelopathic effect increased. Differences between allelopathic potential of alfalfa extracts from different cuts were determined on the growth of lettuce seedlings. On average, alfalfa water extract from the third cut had the highest negative allelopathic potential, while alfalfa water extracts from the fourth and fifth cut showed the least effect. The root length of lettuce seedlings was under the greatest negative allelopathic effect.
