Abstract
Cilj ovoga rada bio je prikazati niz genetskih i paragenetskih čimbenika koji utječu na plodnost mesnatih pasmina svinja te ukazati na njihov značaj. U ovom preglednom radu prikazane su najpoznatije mesnate pasmine svinja, koje su ujedno i najbrojnija skupina svinja u svijetu. Potom se pristupilo definiranju plodnosti, nakon čega su prikazani i objašnjeni čimbenici koji utječu na plodnost krmača: veličina legla, genotip krmača, sezona pripusta, dob kod prasenja, redni broj prasenja, duljina prethodne laktacije i razdoblje od odbića do koncepcije, utjecaj smještajnih čimbenika i hranidbe.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this paper is to represent a variety of genetic and paragenetic factors which have an effect on the fertility of meaty breed of pigs and also to showcase their importance. This paper demonstrates the most familiar meaty breeds of pigs, which are also the most numerous breed in the world. Definition of fertility is explained afterwards, along with explanation of fertility in sows, such as: litter size, sow genotype, mating season, age of farrowing, numerical factor of the farrowing, length of the previous lactation and period of weaning to contraception, influence of accommodation and feeding factors.
