Abstract
Varoa (Varroa destructor) je grinja koja napada medonosne pčele, te je postala globalni problem za pčelare. Varoa ako se ne tretira na vrijeme i na adekvatan način može uništiti cijelu pčelinju zajednicu. Varooza je bolest poklopljenog legla i kao takva predstavlja veliki problem za pčelare, te ju niti jedan pčelar ne može zaobići. Varroa se na pčelama može uočiti tek kada je zabilježena u velikom broju u pčelinjoj zajednici. Cilj ovog završnog rada je usporediti zaraženost pčela radilica grinjom na različitim mjestima u košnici: u plodištu i medištu. U istraživanju je korišteno 64 uzoraka pčela iz 32 pčelinje zajednice. Prosječna zaraženost uzoraka bila je 5,86 ± 3.94 %. Zaraženost uzoraka pčela iz medišta skoro je jednaka zaraženosti uzoraka pčela iz plodišta. Ovi rezultati pokazuju kako je za analizu zaraženosti zajednice grinjom pouzdano uzeti uzorak iz medišnog dijela košnice.
Abstract (english)
Varroa (Varroa destructor) is a mite that attacks honey bees, and has become a global problem for beekeepers. Varroa if not treated in time and in an adequate way can destroy the entire honey bee colony. Varroa is a disease of the capped brood and as such is a big problem for beekeepers and no beekeeper can avoid it. Varroa can be observed on adult bees only when it is recorded in high number in the honey bee colony. The aim of this research is to compare the infestation of worker bees with Varroa mites in different places in the hive: brood chamber and honey chamber. In the study 64 bee samples from 32 hives were used. The average infection of the samples was 5.86 ± 3.94 %. Infestation of bee samples from the honey chamber was almost equal to the infestation of samples from the brood chamber. These results show that it is reliable to take a sample from the honey chamberto analyze the infestation of colony with mites.
