Abstract
Pubertet je razdoblje u kojemu životinje postaju sposobne za reprodukciju. Prvi estrus javlja se u razdoblju od 7 do 18 mjeseci starosti, nakon čega se ponavlja u prosječnim razmacima od 21 dan u krava i 20 dana u junica sve dok životinja ne ostane gravidna. Estrusni ciklus dijeli se u četiri osnovne faze: proestrus, estrus, metaestrus i diestrus, a pojavom ovulacije ženka je sposobna za oplodnju. Regulacija estrusnog ciklusa sastoji se od izmjene duljine ciklusa ili induciranja samoga estrusa što omogućuje odabir vremena umjetnog osjemenjivanja kao i razdoblja teljenja. Osnovne metode sinkronizacije estusa su produženje lutealne faze i skraćenje ciklusa regresijom žutog tijela što je moguće postići primjenom prostaglandina, progestagena te kombiniranom upotrebom hormona. Implementacijom hormonalnih proizvoda za regulaciju estrusa i ovulacije pružene su brojne mogućnosti za menadžment reprodukcije, kao što su povećanje plodnosti, skraćenje servis perioda i međutelidbenog razdoblja, izbjegavanje problema neprimjećivanja estrusa, olakšavanje rada sa životinjama te brojne druge.
Abstract (english)
Puberty is the period in which animals become capable of reproduction. The first estrus occurs between 7 and 18 months of age, after which it is repeated at average intervals of 21 days in cows and 20 days in heifers until the animal remains pregnant. The estrus cycle is divided into four basic phases: proestrus, estrus, metaestrus and diestrus, and with the appearance of ovulation the female is capable of fertilization. The regulation of the estrus cycle consists of changing the length of the cycle or inducing the estrus itself, which allows the selection of the time of artificial insemination as well as the calving period. The basic methods of synchronization are the prolongation of the luteal phase and the shortening of the cycle by the regression of the corpus luteum, which can be achieved by the use of prostaglandins, progestogens and the combined use of hormones. The implementation of hormonal products for the regulation of estrus and ovulation provides numerous opportunities for reproductive management, such as increasing fertility, shortening the service period, reducing the problems of not noticing estrus and easier work with animals and many others.
