Abstract
Lukovi su biljke koje potječu s područja srednje Azije i smatraju se najstarijim povrtnim kulturama. Češnjak (Allium sativum L.), crveni luk (Allium cepa L.) i medvjeđi luk (Allium ursinum L.) pripadaju rodu Allium koje su poznate kao povrtne, začinske i ljekovite biljke. Ove se biljke sve više koriste u alternativnoj medicini kao lijek za mnoge bolesti. Koriste se kao pripravci za snižavanje krvnog tlaka, za liječenje probavnog i dišnog sustava, djeluju antiparazitski, liječe dijabetes i drugo.
Abstract (english)
Onions are plants that originate from Central Asia and are considered as the oldest vegetable crops. Garlic (Allium sativum L.), red onion (Allium cepa L.) and bear’s garlic (Allium ursinum L.) belong to the genus Allium, which are known as vegetable plants, spices and plants with healing properties. These plants are nowadaya increasingly used in alternative medicine as a remedy for many diseases. They are used as preparations for lowering blood pressure, digestive and respiratory systems treatment, and diabetes. They also have antiparasitic effect and many more.
