Abstract
Ukapljeni prirodni plin postao je vodeći energent budućnosti zbog brojnih prednosti u odnosu na naftu. Prirodni plin manje onečišćuje okoliš, te se može koristiti bez naknadne prerade. Uporaba prirodnog plina unatrag nekoliko desetaka godina znatno se povećala a s porastom potražnje i potrošnje prirodnog plina pojavila se i potreba za pronalaženjem povoljnih i sigurnih načina transporta ovog tereta. Potražnja za ukapljenim prirodnim plinom potiče gradnju LNG brodova kao jeftinijeg načina transporta a plin se transportira u tekućem stanju pod atmosferskim tlakom jer tako zauzima puno manje prostora. Potrebna za prijevozom ukapljenog plina potaknula je potrebu za projektiranjem i izgradnjom LNG terminala čije se tehnološke značajke uvelike razlikuju od terminala za ostale vrste tereta.
Abstract (english)
Liquefied natural gas has become a major energy source of the future due to its many advantages compared to oil. Natural gas doesnt pollute the environment as much, and it can be used without aditional processing.The use of natural gas over the last few decades has increased considerably and with the increase in demand and consumption of natural gas, there has also been a need to find cheap and safe ways of transporting this cargo.Demand for liquefied natural gas encourages the construction of LNG ships as a cheaper mode of transport and thegas is transported in liquid state at atmospheric pressure because it takes up less space. Need for liquefied gas transport has stimulated the need for design and construction of LNG terminals whith technological features that are vastly different from other cargo terminals.
