Abstract
Pomorske karte smatraju se bitnim elementom brodske opreme za vođenje navigacije, ali i predstavljaju važan čimbenik za prepoznavanje morskih prostora i obalnih crta Zemlje. Ukratko se opisuje povijest pomorske kartografije te temeljna znanja o pomorskoj navigacijskoj karti te je navedena i njihova podjela zajedno sa objašnjenjima. Nadalje u radu su predstavljene razlike između vektorske i rasterske karte kao i njihovo definiranje kao i osnovna znanja o ECDIS sustavu te njegove prednosti i nedostaci. Kako bi se upotpunila upotreba pomorskih karata opisan je i način označavanja pomorskih plovnih puteva te je u radu definirana i njihova podjela.
Abstract (english)
Sea charts are considered as an important element of ship’s navigation equipment, but they are also an important factor in recognizing the sea areas and coastlines of the Earth. The history of maritime cartography and basic knowledge of Nautical charts are briefly described, and their division is given together with explanations.There are presented differences between vector and raster charts and their definition as well as basic knowledge about the ECDIS system and its advantages and disadvantages. In order to complete the use of nautical charts, the way of marking maritime waterways is described and their division is defined.
