Abstract
Zemljino magnetsko polje neophodno je za postojanje života na Zemlji kakvog danas poznajemo. Ono stvara štit oko Zemlje i štiti nas od opasnog Sunčevog zračenja. U ovom radu opisat će se izvori Zemljinog magnetskog polja koji se nalaze u unutrašnjosti i izvan planeta. Objasnit će se karakteristike polja i varijacije u ovisnošću s vremenom. Također će se govoriti o utjecaju Sunca na Zemljino magnetsko polje i poremećajima koje izaziva, kao što su npr. geomagnetske oluje. Govorit će se o mjerenju magnetskog polja i geomagnetskim opservatorijima u kojima se mjerenja provode.
Abstract (english)
The Earth's magnetic field is necessary for the existence of life on Earth as we know it. It creates a shield around the Earth and protects us from dangerous solar radiation. In this report, the sources of the Earth's magnetic field, witch are located inside and outside the planet, will be decribed. Field characteristics and variations over time will be explained. There will also be talk about the influence of the Sun on the Earth's magnetic field and the disturbances it causes, such as geomagnetic storms. Measurements of the Earth’s magnetic field and the observatories in which measurements are made will also be described.
