Abstract
Transformacija tradicionalnih pomorsko-putničkih luka u moderne marine za nautički turizam odražava globalni trend prilagođavanja promjenjivim zahtjevima turizma. Marina Polesana u Puli, Hrvatska, služi kao izvrstan primjer ove uspješne pretvorbe. Nekada konvencionalna luka posebne namjene, korištena u vojne i putničke svrhe, luka Pula podvrgnuta je izuzetnoj revitalizaciji, kako bi postala vrhunsko središte nautičkog turizma. Ovaj slučaj naglašava potencijal prenamjene postojeće lučke infrastrukture kako bi se zadovoljile potrebe rastućeg tržišta rekreacijskog nautičkog turizma. Projekt je uključivao značajna ulaganja u modernizaciju objekata, proširenje kapaciteta vezova i uvođenje novih sadržaja i usluga prilagođenih potrebama vlasnika jahti i charter kompanija. Transformacija luke suočena je s različitim izazovima, poput balansiranja potreba komercijalnih i rekreacijskih plovila, očuvanja povijesnog konteksta luke i osiguravanja ekološke održivosti. Međutim, uspješan završetak ovog projekta pokazuje izvedivost i prednosti preobrazbe nedovoljno iskorištenih ne samo putničkih luka, već i ostalih luka posebne namjene, u prosperitetne destinacije nautičkog turizma, doprinoseći gospodarskom rastu, stvaranju radnih mjesta i ukupnoj atraktivnosti regije.
Abstract (english)
The transformation of traditional sea-passenger ports into modern nautical tourism marinas reflects a global trend in adapting to evolving tourism demands. Marina Polesana in Pula, Croatia, serves as a prime example of this successful conversion. Once a conventional special-purpose port, used for both military and passenger purposes, port of Pula has undergone a remarkable revitalization to become a state-of-the-art nautical tourism hub. This case study highlights the potential for repurposing existing port infrastructure to cater to the growing recreational boating market. The project involved substantial investments in upgrading facilities, expanding berthing capacity, and introducing new amenities and services tailored to the needs of yacht owners and charter companies. The port's transformation faced various challenges, such as balancing the needs of commercial and recreational vessels, preserving the historical context of the port, and ensuring environmental sustainability. However, the successful completion of this project demonstrates the feasibility and benefits of transforming underutilized not only passenger ports but also other special-purpose ports into thriving nautical tourism destinations, contributing to economic growth, job creation, and the overall attractiveness of the region.
