Abstract
Brodovi za prijevoz ukapljenog prirodnog plina (LNG) morskim putem igraju vrlo bitnu ulogu u svjetskoj distribuciji plina. Rad se fokusira na specifične procedure rukovanja teretom koje su ključne za siguran i učinkovit prijevoz. Te procedure, između ostalog, uključuju inertiranje, sušenje tankova, hlađenje, punjenje plinom te operacije tijekom i nakon remonta brodova. Opisuju se vrste brodova, uključujući standardne, velike, male i specijalizirane brodove, te različiti sustavi skladištenja, kao što su samonosivi i membranski tankovi. Povijest razvoja LNG brodova prati evoluciju od prvih plovila sredinom 20. stoljeća do suvremene flote koja uključuje stotine brodova. Rad također analizira međunarodno i nacionalno tržište LNG-a, s naglaskom na rastuću potražnju i geopolitičke čimbenike koji utječu na trgovinu. Sigurnosne mjere i propisi te opasnosti povezane s LNG-om također su pokrivene. Zaključno, rad naglašava važnost preciznog planiranja i praćenja svih faza prijevoza kako bi se osigurala maksimalna sigurnost i učinkovitost operacija.
Abstract (english)
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) transport ships play a crucial role in the global distribution of gas. This paper focuses on specific cargo handling procedures that are essential for safe and efficient transport. These procedures include, among others, inerting, tank drying, cooling, gas loading, and operations during and after ship maintenance. It describes different types of ships, including standard, large, small, and specialized ships, as well as various storage systems, such as self-supporting and membrane tanks. The history of LNG ship development traces the evolution from the first vessels in the mid-20th century to the modern fleet that includes hundreds of ships. The paper also analyzes the international and national LNG markets, emphasizing the growing demand and geopolitical factors affecting trade. Safety measures and regulations, as well as risks associated with LNG, are also covered. In conclusion, the paper highlights the importance of precise planning and monitoring of all transport stages to ensure maximum safety and operational efficiency.
