Abstract
Brodski dizelski motori na dvojno gorivo su pogonski strojevi koji istovremeno rade na dvije vrste goriva: dizelsko gorivo i ukapljeni prirodni zemni plin. Njihov tehnički razvoj uvjetovan je IMO-vom regulativom na području onečišćenja zraka emisijom ispušnih plinova i sve prihvatljivijom cijenom ukapljenog prirodnog zemnog plina – LNG (eng. Liquid Natural Gas) kao goriva. Dvije vrste brodskih motora ovog tipa se koriste na brodovima, a to su četverotaktni DF (eng. Dual Fuel) i dvotaktni MEGI (eng. Main Engine Gas Injection), koji su obrađeni u završnom radu. Dva glavna svjetska proizođača koja su dizajnirala i dalje razvijaju takve motore su MAN B&W i Wartsila. Prvotno su se motori na dvojno gorivo isključivo koristili na velikim LNG tankerima koji su kao gorivo koristili ispareni teret. Međutim, njihov razvoj i sve veća pouzdanost dovela je do njihove primjene i na druge tipove brodova.
Abstract (english)
Marine dual fuel engines are operating machines that simultaneously work with two types of fuel: diesel fuel and liquefied natural gas. Their technical development are conditioned by IMO regulations on the field of pollution by exhaust gas emissions and with more acceptable price of liquefied natural gas – LNG as fuel. Two types of dual fuel marine engines are used on ships, four-stroke DF (Dual Fuel) and two-stroke MEGI (Main Engine Gas Injection), that are elaborated in this final work. Two worlds major manufacturers that have designed and still continue to develop such engines are MAN B&W and Wartsila. Initially, dual fuel engines were used just on LNG carriers that used boil off cargo as fuel. However, their technical development and much higher reliability has led to their adaptation to other types of vessels as well.
