Abstract
U ovome diplomskom radu obrađuje se tema točnosti GPS (engl. Global Positioning System) pozicije kod mobitela i ručnog GPS prijamnika GARMIN. U suštini GPS je mreža satelita koja kontinuirano odašilje kodirane informacije, bez kojih nebismo mogli odrediti točan položaj na Zemlji. Činjenica je da se tehnologija iz dana u dan mijenja i ide naprijed pa se tako i senzori koji se nalaze u mobitelima stalno mijenjaju i unaprijeđuju. Postavlja se glavno pitanje, da li je točnost GPS-a kod mobitela dovoljna da se u nju možemo pouzdati. Kroz ovaj rad objasnit će se sam princip rada GPS-a, izvori njegovih pogrešaka te moguća poboljšanja sustava, kao i izračun točnosti pozicije dva mobitela u usporedbi s GARMIN uređajem za lociranje.
Abstract (english)
This paper deals with the topic of GPS (eng. Global Positioning System) positions for mobile phones and handheld GPS reciever GARMIN. In essence, GPS is a network of satellites that continuously transmits encrypted infomarions, without which they would not be able to determine the exact position on Earth. The fact is that technology is changing day by day and moving forward so the sensors in mobile phones are constantly changing and improving. That leads to the main question, whether the accuracy of GPS in mobile phones is enought to be alble to rely on it. This paper will explain the main principle of GPS operation, the source of errors and possible system improvements, as well as calculating the accuracy of the position of the two mobile phones comared to the GARMIN locating device.
