Abstract
Posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća kontejneri imaju nedvojbenu važnost u međunarodnom pomorskom teretnom prijevozu. Sa sve većim porastom broja kontejnera u morskim lučkim terminalima, konkurencija među njima postaje sve značajnija. Danas je poslovanje nezamislivo bez učinkovitog korištenja informacijskih tehnologija kao i odgovarajućih optimizacijskih metoda. U ovom radu su opisani tehnološki procesi koji se odvijaju na kontejnerskim terminalima, prijevozno prekrcajna sredstva kao i važnost korištenja informacijsko-komunikacijskih sustava u svrhu jednostavnijeg poslovanja. Važnu stavku u poboljšanju poslovanja na kontejnerskim terminalima predstavlja automatizacija pojedinih poslova.
Abstract (english)
In the last few decades, containers have had an undoubted importance in international maritime freight transport. With the increasing number of containers in sea port terminals, the competition between them is becoming more and more significant. Today, business is unthinkable without the effective use of information technology as well as appropriate optimization methods. This paper describes the technological processes that take place at container terminals, the means of transportation, as well as the importance of using information and communication systems for the purpose of simpler operations. An important item in the improvement of operations at container terminals is the automation of individual operations.
