Abstract
U ovome radu cilj je bio pružiti uvid u Voith-Schneider propulzivne sustave te manevriranje brodovima pomoću njega. Propulzivni sustavi na brodovima mogu se definirati kao sustavi koji su ključni za stvaranje potrebnog potiska za pogon broda kroz vodu, omogućujući im učinkovitu navigaciju i dolazak do odredišta. Postoji nekoliko vrsta propulzivnih sustava, a u ovome se radu istražilo Voith-Schneiderov propulzivni sustav, poznat i kao cikloidni propulzivni sustav. Razvijen je početkom 20. stoljeća, a kasnije poboljšan od strane njemačke tvrtke Voith. Ovaj propulzijski sustav poznat je po svojoj iznimnoj manevarskoj sposobnosti i svestranosti, što ga čini vrijednim izborom za specifične brodske operacije gdje su precizna kontrola i pozicioniranje ključni. Sustav je poseban zbog svog izgleda i načina rada, zbog kojeg se može okretati u svim smjerovima, te sam sebi održavati poziciju. Zbog spomenutih karakteristika i prednosti, ovaj propulzivni sustav pronašao je upotrebu u raznim plovilima, uključujući tegljače, istraživačke brodove te trajekte.
Abstract (english)
The aim of the thesis was to provide an insight into Voith-Schneider propulsion systems, and how are ships are maneuvering with it. Propulsion systems on ships can be defined as systems that are crucial to creating the necessary thrust to propel the vessel through the water, enabling it to navigate efficiently and reach its destination. There are several types of propulsion systems, and the Voith-Schneider propulsion system was investigated in this thesis, which is also known as a cycloid propulsion system. It was developed at the beginning of the 20th century and later improved by the German company Voith. This propulsion system is known for its exceptional maneuverability and versatility, making it a valuable choice in specific ship's operations where precise control and positioning are critical. The system is special because of its appearance and operation mode, due to which it can be turned in all directions and maintain its own position. Due to the aforementioned characteristics and advantages, this propulsion system has found use in various vessels, including tugboats, research vessels and ferries.
