Abstract Predmet su završnog rada suvremene transportne tehnologije ro-ro brodova. Ro-ro brodovi jesu specijalizirani brodovi u koje se ukrcava i iz kojih se iskrcava teret na kotačima, i to preko rampa na boku, krmi ili na pramcu. Zbog specifičnosti prijevoza tereta na kotačima ro-ro brodovi konstrukcijski se značajno razlikuju od drugih tipova brodova. Teret se na ro-ro brod može ukrcati vlastitim pogonom ili ukrcan na prijevozno sredstvo. Može se koristiti i „truck to truck“ ili „viljuškar viljuškaru“ sustav gdje se manipulacija vrši viličarima, pa nisu potrebne brodske rampe, kao i LUF sustav gdje dva vozača grupiraju kontejnere u veće jedinice koji se slažu na posebno postolje koje se zatim specijalnom prikolicom ili tegljačem dovodi na određeno mjesto na brodu. U tim slučajevima nije potrebno vezivanje i učvršćivanje tereta na kotačima, koje je inače potrebno na ro-ro brodovima, a koje se vrši u skladu s propisima Međunarodne pomorske organizacije. Ro-ro terminali jesu terminali na kojima se prevozi ro-ro teret i koji zahtijevaju poseban prostor za pohranu. Glavno obilježje ro-ro terminala jest u tome što ro-ro terminal ne obavlja uobičajene manipulacije s teretom, nego je „samo“ svojevrsna poveznica između pomorskog i cestovnog prometa. Prednosti ro-ro tehnologije jesu brzina ukrcaja, neovisnost o obalnoj mehanizaciji, eliminiranje zakrčenosti u lukama, mogućnosti prijevoza raznih vrsta roba, neovisnost o vremenu i mogućnost obavljanja prekrcaja tijekom 24 sata, mala opasnost od financijskog neuspjeha za luke, visoka produktivnost te najsigurniji i najjeftiniji način prijevoza za specijalne terete. Nedostatci ro-ro tehnologije jesu cijena ro-ro transporta, mrtva mreža transportnih sredstava na brodu, gubitak brodskog prostora ispod kotača prikolica i drugih vozila, odnosno između prikolica i drugih vozila u ro-ro transportu, prostor koji unutrašnje rampe i dizala zauzimaju nauštrb skladišnog prostora, cijena ro-ro brodova itd.
Abstract (english) The subject of this paper are modern transport technology of ro-ro ships. Ro-ro ships are specialized boats that are loaded and discharged with cargo on the wheels, through a ramp on the thigh, stern or bow. Because of the specificity of cargo on the wheels, ro-ro ships are constructed significantly different from other types of ships. Cargo on a ro-ro ship can be embarked on its own or loaded on a means of transport. A „truck to truck“ or „forklift to forklift" system can be used where manipulation is performed by forklifts, so no boat ramps are required, as well as a LUF system where two drivers group containers in larger units that fit into a special stand then by a special trailer or by a tug to a specific place on board. In these cases, it is not necessary to tie and fasten the load on the wheels, otherwise required on ro-ro ships, which is carried out in accordance with the regulations of the International Maritime Organization.Ro-ro terminals are terminals that carry ro-ro cargoes and require special storage space. The main feature of the ro-ro terminal is that the ro-ro terminal does not perform the usual manipulation with the load, but is „just“ a kind of link between maritime and road traffic. The benefits of ro-ro technology include speed of navigation, independence of coast mechanization, elimination of locks in ports, transport options of various types of goods, time independence and ability to carry out transhipment within 24 hours, low risk of financial failure for ports, high productivity and the safest and cheapest way special cargo transport. The disadvantages of ro-ro technology are the ro-ro transportation cost, the deadline for shipping on board, the loss of space between the trailers and other vehicles, or between trailers and other vehicles in ro-ro transport, the space inside the ramps and elevators occupy the storage space space, the price of ro-ro ships etc.
