Abstract
Razvoj svjetskog tržišta u velikoj mjeri uzrokovan je kontejnerizacijom koja neprestano doživljava svoje vrhunce. Poznato je da su u samim počecima prijevoza tereta (generalnog, komadnog) morem korištene palete, bačve i mreže za utovar na brod. Nakon otkrića kontejnera i njegove standardizacije omogućeno je postupno razvijanje tehnologije vezane za transport kontejnera. Iako je kontejner sastavni dio, a ujedno i osnova multimodalnog transporta, za što efikasniji i ekonomičniji prijevoz najveći razvoj i primjena suvremene tehnologije se postižu u brodarstvu. Cestovni i željeznički promet u manjoj mjeri prate ovaj tehnološki razvoj. Kontejnerski brodovi u današnje vrijeme uz brodove za prijevoz rasutih tereta i tankera su među najzastupljenijim brodovima svjetske trgovačke mornarice. Tehnološki napredak izravno je pridonio gradnji i korištenju mega kontejnerskih brodova. Ovaj rad ima za cilj prikazati neke od važnijih tehnoloških karakteristika kontejnerskih brodova, načine prijevoza tereta i stvari na koje je potrebno obratiti pažnju vezano za prijevoz kontejnera.
Abstract (english)
The development of the world markets has been largely caused by containerization which is constantly experiencing its peaks. It is known that at the very beginning of cargo transportation (general cargo) by sea, pallets, barrels and nets were used for loading ship. After the invention of the containers and their standardization, gradual development of technology related to their transport was enabled. Although containers form an integral part and the basis of multimodal transport enabling the most efficient and economical transportation, their greatest development has been achieved in shipping by means of modern technology application. The road and rail traffic follow this technological development to a lesser extent. Nowadays, container ships along with bulk carriers and tankers are among the world's most prominent merchant and navy vessels. Technological progress has directly contributed to the construction and use of mega container ships. This final paper aims to present some of the most important technological features of container ships, methods of cargo transportation, and what needs to be considered in the transport of containers.
