Abstract
Tropski cikloni ili uragani su intenzivni poremećaji u atmosferi s izraženim spiralnim strujanjem zraka. Najintenzivnije prirodne su nepogode na Zemlji. Cilj ovog rada je prikazati sve elemente koji su vezani za tropske ciklone i uragane, za njihov nastanak, kretanje, fizikalnu strukturu, klasifikaciju i terminologiju te procijeniti mogućnosti njihove prognoze i upozorenja stanovništva, a naročito pomoraca.Tropski cikloni su klasificirani u tri glavne skupine temeljene na intezitetu. Uragani Bloh, Dean i Katrina spadaju među najrazvijenije uragane koji su nanijeli velike štete. Intezivni tropski cikloni predstavljaju velik izazov za promatranje. Precizna predviđanja putanja tropskih ciklona ovise o određivanju položaja i inteziteta visokih i niskih područja tlaka tijekom života ciklusa tropskog sustava. Pojedini svjetski centri nadležni su za upozorenje pomoraca o pojavi tropskih ciklona. Dostupnost i kvaliteta ovih upozorenja od velikog je utjecaja na sigurnost plovidbe.
Abstract (english)
Tropical cyclones or hurricanes are intense disturbances in the atmosphere with expressed spiraling air flow. They are the most intense natural disasters on Earth. The aim of this work is to show all elements related to tropical cyclones and hurricanes for their origin, movement, physical structure, classification and terminology, and to evaluate the possibilities of their forecasts and alerts to the population, especially seafarers.Tropical cyclones are classified into three main groups based on intensity. Hurricane Bloh, Dean, and Katrina are among the most developed hurricanes that have caused great damage. Intensive tropical cyclones represent a major challenge for observation. Precise predictions of the tropical cyclone path depend on determining the position and intensity of high and low pressure areas throughout the tropical cycle. Some world centers are responsible for seafarers' warning of the occurrence of tropical cyclones. The availability and quality of these warnings has a major impact on the safety of navigation.
