One of the main challenges identified by the European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO) is to achieve sustainable development of sea ports and the development of so-called. environmental port. It is anticipated that the environmental port will become the cornerstone of the future port development. One of the objectives of environmental port is to create a good ecological environment and high economic efficiency at the port. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to ensure the use of renewable sources for port activities, or to implement a sustainable practices such as recycling and reuse of these materials. The subject of this article is to describe the basic settings to achieve the concept of green port and define guidelines for the development and integration of this concept in the port system.
