Abstract
Ginseng, ginko i kineska huperzija ljekovite su biljke tradicionalne kineske medicine i bogat izvor bioaktivnih sastavnica. Svoju dugotrajnu primjenu, zadržanu do danas, zahvaljuju širokom rasponu indikacija i djelotvornosti u liječenju istih. Još od davnine, smatra se kako ljekoviti pripravci ovih biljaka pozitivno djeluju na kognitivne funkcije što je nedavno potvrđeno i u nekoliko kliničkih ispitivanja. Njihova bi uporaba mogla biti od velikog značaja u prevenciji i liječenju Alzheimerove demencije s obzirom da su registrirani lijekovi slabo djelotvorni i služe samo u simptomatskoj terapiji.
Abstract (english)
Asian ginseng, ginkgo and Chinese club moss are plants from traditional Chinese medicine and a rich source of bioactive components. Their long-term use, retained until today, thanks to a wide range of indications and effectiveness in the treatment. Since ancient times, it is believed that these drugs have a positive effect on cognitive function as recently confirmed in several clinical trials. Using this drugs could be of great importance in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's dementia due to low efficiency and only symptomatic treatment achieved with so far registered drugs.
