Abstract
Alzheimerova bolest danas je vodeći oblik demencije kod osoba starijih od 65 godina. Simptomi bolesti značajno narušavaju kvalitetu života kako samog bolesnika tako i članova njegove bliže obitelji. S obzirom da patofiziologija bolesti još uvijek nije sasvim razjašnjena terapije bolesti danas se svodi na simptomatsko liječenje. Najpoznatija i najraširenija skupina lijekova u liječenju Alzheimerove bolesti danas su inhibitori acetilkolinesteraze. Cilj ovoga rada bio je istražiti djelovanje alkaloida sličnih berberinu na inhibiciju acetilkolinesteraze. U istraživanje bila su uključena četiri alkaloida; kanadin, kanadalin, koridalin i taliktrikavin. Pozitivne rezultate pokazao je alkaloid koridalin, dok za ostale alkaloide nisu dobive valjani rezultatu zbog njihove velike apsorpcije u valnom području apsorpcije samog enzima.
Abstract (english)
Alzheimer's disease is the leading form of dementia in persons over the age of 65. Symptoms of illness significantly impair the quality of life of the patient as well as members of his immediate family. Given that the pathophysiology of the disease is still not entirely clarified, the disease is now reduced to symptomatic treatment. The most well-known and most widely-used group of drugs in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease today are acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. The aim of this paper was to investigate the action of berberin-like alkaloids on acetylcholinesterase. Four alkaloids were included in the study; canadine, canadaline, corydaline and thatictricavine. Positive results showed alkaloid corydaline, while other alkaloids did not get a valid result due to their high absorption in the wavelengths of absorption of the enzyme itself.
