Transportation is one of the most important factors of the organization of space, which is most influenced by the quality of transportation connectivity. The quality of transportation connectivity also affects the island population of Dalmatia, which is, due to the smaller number of developed higher-ranking central functions on the islands, forced to be constantly connected to the mainland by maritime transportation. The aim of this paper, by analysing different features of maritime transportation, is to investigate the quality of maritime transportation of all Dalmatian islands considering their regional division, but also the distance from the mainland. The analysis also takes into account the most important needs of the island's population, due to which the maritime connectivity of the island should be of better quality. The research showed that there are differences in the transportation connectivity of the Dalmatian islands and the volume of passenger transportation considering their distance from the mainland or the regional division of the archipelago. Also, the representation of different types of maritime connectivity in the studied islands is unequal.
