This paper presents the Bjelovar Fair as one of the forms of economic manifestation and its role and influence on the development of tourism in the Bjelovar-Bilogora County. The first part of the paper gives an overview of the geographical characteristics of the county and its traffic and geographic position, tourist offer, accommodation capacities and the number of domestic and foreign tourists. The second part of the paper focuses on the Bjelovar Fair and its meaning for the Bjelovar-Bilogora County. An overview of the historical development of the Bjelovar Fair, the structure of its exhibitors and visitors is given. The cultural and economic role of the fair within the Bjelovar-Bilogora County was analyzed, and primarily the impact of the fair on its tourism. In order to study this impact, tourist trends during the fair were investigated and interviews were conducted with persons associated with the establishment of the fair. Surveys were conducted among the exhibitors of the fair. The following section explains the tendencies of the development of the Bjelovar Fair and discusses the possible directions of its development. Its overall influence on the economic and cultural identity of Bjelovar and Bjelovar-Bilogora County was questioned. Based on the synthesis of the obtained results, conclusions were reached on the above topic, i.e. the significance of the Bjelovar Fair for tourism within the observed area.
