Abstract
Sedimentne stijene koje su predmet ovog istraživanja dio su gornjokrednih naslaga zapadne Medvednice. Metode koje su korištene pri istraživanju su terenski rad, mikroskopiranje i kalcimetrija. Istraživane sedimentne stijene odreĊene su kao konglomerati, kalkareniti i muljnjaci. PotvrĊena je gornjokredna starost stijena pomoću foraminifera roda Orbitoides. Konglomerati su opisani kao debriti, a izmjene kalkarenita i muljnjaka kao turbiditi te im je odreĊen taložni prostor. Fluvijalni tokovi i progradacija delte do ruba šelfa pretpostavljeni su model transporta karbonatom bogatog sedimenta na rub šelfa, a sedimentacija se dogaĊala u dubokomorskom okolišu iz turbiditnih i debritnih tokova.
Abstract (english)
Sedimentary rocks which are the subject of this thesis are a part of the Upper Cretaceous deposits of western Medvednica. The methods used in this research are field work, microscopy, and calcimetry. The sedimentary rocks studied are determined as conglomerates, calcarenites and mudstones. The Upper Cretaceous age of the rocks was confirmed by the finding of the foraminifera genus Orbitoides. Conglomerates are described as debrites and layers of calcarenites and mudstones as turbidites. Fluvial flows and delta progradation to the shelf edge are assumed as a way of transport for carbonate-rich sediments to the shelf edge, which were then brought by means of turbulent and debris flows in a deepmarine environment.
