Abstract
Mikrostrukturna i morfološka obilježja oksida metala kljuĉni su elementi koji definiraju njihova kemijska i fiziĉka svojstva, te podruĉje njihove primjene. U okviru ovog doktorskog rada dan je opširan literaturni pregled oksida četiri istraživana metala, njihovih svojstava, te metoda sinteze. U eksperimentalnom dijelu istražena je površinska oksidacija željeza, utjecaj temperature na nastanak oksidnih vrsta, te njihova morfološka obilježa. Utvrđeno je da željezo oksidira slojevito pri čemu se s dubinom mijenja fazni sastav, što nije slučaj kod površinske oksidacije nikla. Istražen je utjecaj temperature na veličinu i morfologiju čistih i dopiranih željezovih oksida nastalih termičkim raspadom željezovog(III) acetilacetonata uz dopiranje manganom, te njihove transformacije, pri čemu je maghemit nađen kao primarni produkt raspada. Morfolška i mikrostrukturna obilježa manganovih i niklovih oksida istražena su usporedbom termičkog raspada različitih prekursora. Za sintezu tankih polimernih kompozitnih vlakana s dodatkom cinkovih ili niklovih oksida korištena je metoda elektroispredanja, dok je u analizi istraživanih oksida primjenjen multidiciplinarni pristup karakterizaciji uz više analitičkih metoda.
Abstract (english)
The microstructural and morphological characteristics of metal oxides are the key elements that define their chemical and physical properties. In this doctoral thesis, an extensive literature review of the oxides of the four investigated metals, their properties, and synthesis methods was given. In the experimental part, the surface oxidation of iron, the influence of temperature on the formation of oxide species and morphological features were investigated. It was found that iron oxidizes in layers, with the phase composition changing with depth, which is not the case with surface oxidation of nickel. Influence of temperature and Mn doping on the properties of nanostructured iron oxides prepared by thermal decomposition of iron(III) acetylacetonate was investigated, whereby maghemite was found as the primary decomposition product. The morphological and microstructural characteristics of manganese and nickel oxides were investigated by comparing the thermal decomposition of different precursors. For the synthesis of thin polymer composite fibers with the addition of zinc or nickel oxides, the electrospinning method was used, while in the analysis of the investigated oxides, a multidisciplinary approach to characterization was applied with several analytical methods.
