Abstract
Fosilni ostaci alpskog svisca (Marmota marmota (Linnaeus, 1758)) pronađeni su u gornjopleistocenskim naslagama Istočne i Zapadne pećine u Brini nedaleko od Drniša. Ukupno je pronađeno 411 skeletnih ostataka u Istočnoj pećini te 14 u Zapadnoj pećini. Kosti iz Istočne pećine su bolje očuvane od onih iz Zapadne pećine. Tafonomskom analizom cijelog uzorka skeletnih ostataka određeno je da je primarni faktore akumulacije prirodna smrt, sekundarni faktor su male zvijeri, a manji broj uzoraka pokazuje... More da su svisci bili plijen paleolitičkih lovaca. Tragovi glodanja i grebanja glodavaca na površini kosti, kao i pukotine od isušivanja pokazuju da kosti nisu bile odmah zakopane u sediment nego su se neko vrijeme nalazile na tlu. Less
Abstract (english)
The fossil remains of the alpine marmot (Marmota marmota (Linnaeus, 1758)) were found in the Late Pleistocene deposits of the Eastern and Western Pećine u Brini cavesnear Drniš. A total of 411 skeletal remains were found in the Eastern cave and 14 in the Western cave. Bones from Eastern cave are better preserved than those from Western cave. Taphonomic analysis of the entire sample of skeletal remains show that the primary factor of accumulation was natural death, secondary factor was small... More carnivore predation, and a small number of samples showed that the marmots were prey of paleolithic hunters. The traces of gnawing and scratching made by rodents, as well as fine line fractures on the bone surface indicate that the bones were not immediately buried within sediment but were laying on the ground for some time.
