Abstract
Osnovni faktor preobrazbe prirodne sredine i opće društveno-geografske stvarnosti je stanovništvo. Cilj ovog rada je utvrditi trenutačno stanje demografskih resursa otoka, te pomoću analize sintetičnih pokazatelja demografskih resursa oblikovati tipologiju prostornih jedinica otoka Brača. Na taj način olakšava se njihovo identificiranje, vrednovanje i usporedba. Poseban će naglasak biti na inovacijskim procesima koji su obilježili zadnjih 10 godina odnosno zadnje međupopisno razdoblje (1991./2001.). Istraživanje demografskih promjena otoka Brača predstavljeno je primarno problemom depopulacije. Ona je prvenstveno prouzročena definitivnim preseljenjem otočnog stanovništva na urbaniziranije i atraktivnije priobalje i velike gradske centre. Iseljavanjem stanovništva, njegovim starenjem, te preseljenjem na obalna područja, dogodile su se brojne promjene u okolini naročito središnjih i nenastanjenih dijelova otoka. Sve to utjecalo je na današnji prostorni raspored stanovništva, te na stvaranje logičnih urbanih koncentracija na industrijskim, turističkim i prometno aktivnim točkama.
Abstract (english)
The main factor in natural environment’s transformation and socio-geographic reality is population. The goal of this paper is to determine the current state of demographic resources on the island, and with the analysis of synthetic indicators of demographic resources form the typology of spatial units of the island. In this way it helps with their identification, evaluation and comparison. A special emphasis will be placed on innovative processes that have marked the last intercensal period. The research of demographic changes in the island of Brač is primarily represented by the problem of depopulation. Emigration, aging of Brač's population and it's moving to coastal areas, caused many changes in the environment especially the central and unoccupied parts of the island. All this has contributed to the current spatial distribution of population, and creating of a logical urban concentration on industrial, touristic and traffic active points.
