Abstract
Glavni predmet ovog rada je suvremena demogeografska slika Imotske krajine temeljena na podatcima popisa stanovništva 1991. i 2001. godine. Provedene analize potvrdile su pretpostavke o nepovoljnim strukturama stanovništva i negativnim demografskim procesima u krajini. Negativni demografski trendovi potvrđeni su i prvim rezultatima popisa stanovništva 2011. godine, pa nije izgledno da će se Imotska krajina uspješno razvijati bez ozbiljne državne potpore. Usporedbom demografskih obilježja grada Imotskog u odnosu na ostala ruralna naselja dolazi se do sljedećih zaključaka: procesi emigracije, deruralizacije te smanjenja broja stanovnika utjecali su na sva naselja, s time da su procesi u manjoj mjeri izraženi u Imotskom, a u puno većoj u ruralnim naseljima iako i među njima postoje određene razlike.
Abstract (english)
The main object of this work is a contemporary demogeographics of Imotski region data based on the census 1991. and 2001. The conducted analysis confirmed the unfavorable assumptions about population structure and negative demographic processes in the region. Negative demographic trends have been confirmed and the first results of the census 2011., so it is not likely that the Imotski region flourish without serious government support. Comparing the demographic characteristics of Imotski in comparison to other rural settlements is reached the following conclusions:processes of emigration, deruralization and population decline have resulted in all the settlements, with the processes to a lesser extent expressed in Imotski, and much more in rural areas and among them, although there are some differences.
