Abstract
U današnjoj posttranzicijskoj fazi demografskog razvoja posebno je zanimljiva Splitsko-dalmatinska županija unutar koje se mogu izdvojiti tri prostorne sastavnice sa bitno različitim demografskim obilježjima. Otoci i zaleđe županije su zbog dugotrajnih emigracija i prirodnog pada obuhvaćeni procesom intenzivne depopulacije za razliku od obalnog pojasa koji je zbog procesa urbanizacije i litoralizacije imao imigracijski karakter i tako povećavao svoje stanovništvo na štetu otoka i zaleđa što je dovelo do polarizacije razvoja. Tako danas s jedne strane imamo urbaniziranu i ekonomski razvijenu obalu a s druge strane zaostali prostor zaleđa i otoka koji je na rubu demografskog sloma. Cilj rada je posebno prikazati i analizirati demografsku sliku svake prostorne sastavnice Splitsko-dalmatinske županije kako bi se utvrdile stvarne razlike među njima i predvidio daljnji demografski razvoj te mogle utvrditi potencijalne opasnosti za očuvanje prostora.
Abstract (english)
Today, in the last stage of demographic development, especially is interesting Split-Dalmatia County that can be divided into three spatial components with very different demographic characteristic. Islands and hinterland are due to long-term emigration and natural decline included in process of intensive depopulation what is in contrast to coastal zone, which has the immigration character because of process of urbanization and littoralization that increased its population. The result of that is polarization development. So today, on the one hand we have urbanized and economically developed coast and on the other hand undeveloped islands and hinterland which are on the edge of demographic collapse. The purpose of the paper is display and analyze demographic stage of each spatial components of Split-Dalmatia County and determinate real difference between them so that we can predict future demographic development and potential risks for preservation of space.
