Abstract
Rad analizira značajke, procese i trendove vezane uz mesnu industriju kao dio svjetske poljoprivrede te način na koji navedene pojave utječu na okoliš. Okolišne posljedice ponajprije obuhvaćaju promjene u korištenju zemljišta, kakvoći i količini vodnih zaliha, prijetnje bioraznolikosti te ulogu u emisiji stakleničkih plinova. Prezentirani su i socio-ekonomski procesi vezani uz mesnu industriju te je dan kritički osvrt na koncept industrijskog držanja životinja.
Abstract (english)
The thesis is analyzing facts, processes and trends connected to the meat industry as a part of the global agriculture. The primary focus is the way meat industry impacts the enviroment, notably trough changes in land use, wate management, biodiversity loss and GHG emissions. In addition to environmental effects, social and economical processes have been presented aswell as a critical review regarding the concept of industrial husbandry.
