Abstract
Oksidacijska fotosinteza je proces kojim se Sunčeva energija pretvara u kemijsku energiju. Fotosintetski prokarioti koji imaju sposobnost fotosinteze su cijanobakterije. Oksidacijska fotosinteza događa se u tilakoidnim membranama gdje svjetlost apsorbiraju pigmenti. U cijanobakterija razlikujemo sljedeće pigmente - klorofili a, karotenoide i fikobiliproteine. Reakcija oksidacijska fotosinteze počinje hvatanjem svjetlosti sustavom antena koja se onda prenosi do dva velika fotosustava - fotosustav II i fotosustav I koji su funkcionalno povezani plastokinonom (PQ), citokromom b6f kompleksom i luminalnim nosačima elektrona. Reakcije lanca transporta elektrona dovode do elektrokemijskog protonskog gradijenta koji pokreće sintezu ATP uz pomoć ATP sintaze. U ovom radu opisana je sturuktura i funkcija glavnih proteinskih kompleksa koji kataliziraju prvi korak u pretvorbi energije.
Abstract (english)
Oxygenic photosynthesis is the process of transforming light energy from the Sun into chemical energy. Photosynthetic prokaryotes that have the ability of photosynthesis are cyanobacteria. Oxidation photosynthesis occurs in thylakoid membranes where pigments absorbs light. In cyanobacteria we have the following pigments - chlorophylls, carotenoids and ficobyl proteins. The oxygenic photosynthesis begins by capturing the light by an antenna system and transferred to two large photosystems - the photosystem II and the photosystem I, which are functionally coupled by the plastoquinone (PQ), the cytochrome b6f complex and luminal electron carriers. The reactions of electron transport chain lead to an electrochemical proton gradient, which drives synthesis of ATP by molecular motor, the ATP synthase. This paper describes the structure and function of main protein complexes that catalyze the first step in energy conversion.
